We have taken concrete measures to reduce our environmental impact and offset unavoidable emissions through climate protection projects. Our strategy follows three steps:

Lights

All areas from office to production are equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting systems and motion detectors.

Printed pages

With digital signatures, we have significantly reduced the amount of paper used in human resources, for example from 62 to just 12 pages for recruitment.

Electric charging station

Since 2020, we've had our own charging station for electric vehicles to enable our employees to charge their EVs at work.

Printed media

In order to reduce our paper consumption, we have converted printed magazines, specialist literature and promotional materials to digital alternatives.

Mobility

We actively promote mobility and offer our employees e-bike leasing.

Wrapping

Back in 2020, we successfully reduced our packaging sizes and completely avoided the use of foam and PVC.

Water

We promote health and provide our employees with water dispensers and reusable bottles.

How hydropower is changing India's energy landscape

The Karcham Wangtoo Project on the Sutlej River in India

The Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh (GOHP) have identified the Sutlej River as a major source of hydropower and have initiated hydroelectric projects along the river and its tributaries.

The Karcham Wangtoo hydropower project is part of an overall development plan proposed by GOHP for the potential of the Sutlej catchment area. The project is being developed and carried out by Jaypee Karcham Hydro Corporation Limited to alleviate acute power shortages. 350 climate certificates were purchased for this project to offset our emissions.

Reforestation of degraded pastures in Uruguay

18,191 ha of new life

Reforestation of degraded pastures in Uruguay

The project in Uruguay is dedicated to the reforestation of 18,191 ha of degraded pastures that were previously used for extensive cattle breeding.

The aim is to produce high-quality wood products and sequestrate carbon dioxide. 727 to 900 trees per hectare are planted on 60 percent of the area in order to protect biodiversity, particularly along watercourses.

Our contribution subsidizes 146 hectares for one year and supports six sustainable development goals: poverty, decent work and economic growth, less inequality, sustainable consumption and production, climate protection measures and life on land.

The Schweinfurt-based IT remarketing company was recognized as tap water-friendly by atip:tap. atip:tap is a non-profit association that has been working for water from the tap and against water from deposit and PET bottles for around 10 years.

FAQs about climate protection

Why is Econocom Remarketing committed to environmental protection

To avoid catastrophic consequences, the international community has agreed that global warming must be kept below 2 degrees Celsius. However, current national pledges are only sufficient to limit warming to a maximum of 4 degrees. We consider voluntary emissions reductions to be imperative and have therefore decided to systematically reduce our CO2 emissions and offset them where possible.

How does Econocom Remarketing contribute to climate protection?

We follow a three-step climate strategy: Avoid, Reduce, and Offset CO₂ emissions. Additionally, we are involved in numerous initiatives, such as "Allianz Klima," and are members of the Bundesverband nachhaltige Wirtschaft.

What certifications does Econocom Remarketing have in the area of climate protection and sustainability?

In 2020, we were awarded first prize in the 'Office & Environment' competition. In 2019, we also received the Energy Saving Award from the City of Schweinfurt. Additionally, we are recognized by atip:tap as a tap water-friendly company.
